Talk Therapy
I work with clients, individual or couples, who are facing challenges related to trauma, alcohol abuse, relationship challenges, and marriage concerns. Building trust is essential for us to collaborate on an effective treatment plan that can help get your life back on track.
I was raised in Tuscaloosa, AL. After high school, I served four years in the Army as an infantry soldier. After the military, I went to college and worked in the restaurant business. I moved to Texas in 1998 and have been here ever since. I continued working in the restaurant business but felt I was supposed to do more for people. I became an EMT and did this for 11 years. In that time, I saw the need for counseling first responders, as I became victim to these traumas The traumas experienced on a daily basis can take an effect on the mental health of the individual. I completed college and received my mater degree in 2023. Let me support you and overcome these traumas.
I believe that the best mental health outcomes come from a collaborative approach, where clients are active participants in their own healing journey. That's why I work closely with the clients to develop customized treatment plans, and empower them with the knowledge and tools they need to take charge of their health.
While I embrace the wisdom of traditional healing practices, I also stay up-to-date with the latest scientific research on mental health. I only use evidence-based practices in our treatments and recommendations that I have been trained and certified in using.
CBT focuses on the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It is a type of psychotherapy that aims to help individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to mental health problems
Motivational interviewing (MI) is a client-centered, evidence-based counseling approach that aims to help individuals explore and resolve ambivalence about making positive behavioral changes.
A structured therapy that encourages the patient to briefly focus on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories.
